Triangle - Social & Entertainment
February 14th is not just another day in the Triangle. With love in the air, the decision is how to impress your special love for Valentine's Day.
First thing first... Our first recommendation would be to place an order with Red Light Chocolates. They have excellent handmade, artisan chocolates and caramels that are great for all occasions! Order conveniently online at www.redlightchocolates.com - Raleigh, NC - 919-290-4223
Let's see, how about a horse and buggy ride? J & L Carriage Rides offer tours of downtown Raleigh. The tours range in price from 10 to 30 dollars depending on the length of the ride. The hours available are Monday to Sunday from Noon to 5pm and 5:30pm to 10pm. You must make reservations by calling 919-915-0378.
So, you’re not big on the horse and buggy. How about a little human power to take you on a tour of Raleigh? The Rickshaw is powered by a person that peddles a bike. You sit in the back with your mate, hold hands, kiss and you’re off to see the sights and sounds of Raleigh. The driver will escort a couple in a comfy and cozy peddle-cab through the streets of downtown Raleigh - Fayetteville Street, Moore Square, and around the Capital. You can hail the Rickshaw on any of the downtown street corners. Your best bet would be to call (919) 623-5555 and tell the driver where you are and he will pick you up. That is the start of a very unique, romantic evening. The drivers work on tips!
After all that sightseeing, you’re getting hungry and looking for a romantic restaurant. Where do you go? Frazier's Restaurant at 2418 Hillsborough St., in Raleigh, is the place to take your love. Frazier's offers a wide variety of food and drink. Frazier's even offers a tasting menu, which allows you to sample many different foods. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly. You can make reservations online, which is a big plus. If you enjoy wine, Frazier's also offers a weekly wine tasting. This is a great way to start a date or a relaxing evening. You can reach the staff by calling (919) 828-6699.
The end to the perfect romantic evening has nothing to do with going home. Indulge yourselves with a night away from the house. The place to end that very special night is the Oakwood Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Oakwood Inn is within walking distance of downtown Raleigh. Gary and Doris Jurkiewicz are the innkeepers and they will see to your every need. Each of the six beautiful guest rooms has its own bathroom with shower, private phone line and cable television. Also, each room has a working fireplace, a big plus when it comes to romance. The Inn is located at 411 North Bloodworth Street, Raleigh, N.C. You can reach Gary or Doris by calling (919) 832-9712.
Flowers, remember to give that loved one flowers. Daniel's Florist is the place to go. They are located at 2829 Jones Franklin Rd Raleigh, NC. You can reach them by phone (919)851-1500.
Oh well, these are just a few suggestions to get you thinking about your plans for Valentine’s Day. Take some time to plan a rendezvous with your special girl or guy.
